We aren’t a family that travels very often. Tyler and I had never been on a vacation that wasn’t for someone else (wedding, funeral, engagement, etc) until this past Fall. I’ve had the bug for years, and we’re starting to make travel a bigger priority. (And let’s be honest, plane tickets are SUPER expensive so until now, we really couldn’t make it a financial priority either!)
In October, Guinevere and I flew to Oregon to visit my family. It was a sort of test run to see how she’d do with bigger trips and she was a dream. Layovers and long flights and a time difference, skipping naps and unfamiliar places to sleep, and she was SO good-natured and easy going about the whole thing. We’ve been planning a trip to Disney since December 2014 for this upcoming May, and we finally booked those plans.
Guinevere has been DYING to go to Disney. I’ve heard frequently “If you really loved me, you’d have taken me to Disney by now.” She knows that two of her godbrothers who are younger have been, as well as quite a few of our friends children, and is desperate to go. I cannot wait to see the look on her face when we tell her!
I know she would love to dress up while we are there, especially when meeting princesses. However, she is weird about itchy costumes made of the cheap plastic-y fabric, and it will be quite warm in May. So I thought I’d search Etsy for some ideas that are princess-y but would still be shorter so she could run around, and more comfortable to wear.
Ya’ll. I hit the motherload. LOOK HOW CUTE THESE ARE. I’m just super sad that Disney has banned adults from wearing costumes. Not even kidding. When I went out looking for practical and comfy princess dresses for little girls, I had no idea how many options there were!

So, now I need three more jobs in order to pay for them in addition to the actual trip to Disney, ha!
On a related note, I was texting a few of these to my best friends, and S replied (knowing my penchant for dressing Guinevere and myself in matching clothes/shoes all the time) with this picture:
/dead. I definitely will be packing that one for Tyler while Gwen and I are in some cutesy red and white polka dot ensemble 😉
Our hotel is booked (Bay Tower Contemporary) and our meal reservations are made. The only thing left is Fast Passes! Any suggestions on what I absolutely need and what I can pass on? We’ll be there six days.
