I rarely edit my images as black and white. I love color – as vivid as possible – and most of my posts are either OOTDs (which definitely need color) or of a bouncy toddler that benefits from it. But after looking at these pictures of Guinevere trying on what I’m fairly certain will be her Christmas dress, I loved the subtle patterned wall and the graphic black and white outfit together, and thought they looked kind of interesting this way.
The dress is from Target, and “obsessed” would be an understatement. In fact, I thought it was far too fabulous for a normal hairbow so I dug out a fascinator I wore a few years ago, shortened the strap, and it was the perfect accessory.
When she smiles, I think she looks about 16. It kills me.
In related Guinevere news, last night she got a time out for hitting me. While in time out she kept begging “I want to apologize! Can I apologize? Please let me apologize!” I told her I wasn’t ready for her apology yet, but I’d let her know, and let her stew for a few minutes. Finally I came over and told her I was ready for her apology. She then proceeded to tap/massage her chin (that whole “musing” movement) and goes “Hm…hm…let me think.” As I’m staring at her she goes “Oh! I know!” (with a finger in the air for emphasis) – and she proceeds to bow. Very similar to my recent Instagram video if you caught it. So while she is in this deep, courtly bow, I left the room, shut the door, and dissolved into giggles. After I pulled myself together I went back in – yadda yadda, that wasn’t an apology, you must be respectful to your parents, hitting is unacceptable. But the personality on this kid – WOW. Its a little out of control.
She’s also fond of telling me that she needs candy because it makes her feel happy and I should give it to her because I love her and want her to be happy. Or that its very important that she gets to watch TV so that she can relax. I also love the time she chose blue as a popsicle flavor because “blue matches [her] eyes”.
I’m in over my head, guys. And I love every stinkin’ second of it.
