Baseball tees always make me think of Tyler – he had this 3/4 sleeve tee that features the band At the Drive-In, and he used to wear it multiple times a week. He LOVES baseball tees – maybe as a result of being a former baseball player?
For the past year, I’ve been seeing them crop up on fashion bloggers too, and I love all of the creative ways that others have styled them –
When Very Jane offered to send me an item of my choice from one of their current vendors, I immediately went for this mint baseball tee. My first thought was to dress it up. I’ve often said that I’m the girl that is always over dressed – I don’t do “jeans and a tee”. I like my high heels and short skirts thank you very much.
It was easy to maintain my “dressy” style in Guinevere’s first two years of life – my heels and skirts were fine for going out and about. But now that we’re in full blown toddler mode, a new stage has emerged – play time. And not where I sit on the floor and read her a book – we are straight out, balls to the wall, running on the playground, climbing over ramps and up ladders, and kicking soccer balls (her new favorite!)
Which means? Time to come up with some casual options in my wardrobe. Luckily, this baseball tee dresses down perfectly 😉
Very Jane is like Groop Dealz – daily boutique deals. I hadn’t heard of them before they contacted me, but this might turn out to be dangerous, because the day after I picked out this tee, I bought myself these two Stella+Dot-esq bracelets (for $8.95!) and see this as the beginning of a very profitable relationship – for them 😉 They also didn’t ask me to write a full post about them and certainly didn’t pay me to do so – I just REALLY love their site and am now a loyal customer!
So I guess maybe I’m starting to get this whole “mom-style” thing – but I’m determined to do it as stylishly as possible!
How did your look change after kids??
