Typical DC weather – snowstorm one day, sunny the next. Yesterday’s snowquester was full of snowmen and forts for Guinevere and I, but that fun has melted into a slushy mess and I didn’t even need a coat to run errands. No sorrow here, I hate the cold – good riddance, snow.
My skirt is actually a dress (worn in an OOTD post here) and I’ve worn it as a skirt a few times this winter, with my black wedge booties or gray-green Vince Camuto boots. However, both are suede and so I needed something able to withstand parking lot sludge while running around today. Brown is rarely my first thought to add to a black outfit, but I always end up liking the look and think I should incorporate the two more often.
Despite the quick melt, Prince William County schools were still closed today and so after a few failed attempts of pictures in front of my house (the melted snow turned my yard into a muddy river mess), I threw my tripod in the car before heading out to the vet, UPS store, and a few other stops. As I passed the local elementary school on my way out, I thought it might be nice to take pictures without people wondering what the hell that girl is doing taking pictures of herself? My neighbors must think I’m either insane or insanely shallow, so having a private space in daylight was glorious. I did wish the sun weren’t directly overhead (should have gotten my butt out the door at 8am like I’d planned), but such is life.
Next week is Spring Break for me (YES!) so I have a To Do list a mile long, three play dates scheduled, and I need to start packing for Blissdom. Can’t believe I have less than two weeks before I’m in Dallas with all my amazing blog friends. Its going to be legendary.
