You would think that since classes are over and I’m working from home again, I’d have more free time. But with the holidays, a crazy workload, and the flu, I’m as far behind as ever. I’m starting to believe it when they say a woman’s work is never done!
On to the challenge…
The truth is, we stayed in all day. We had stayed out far too late the night before, and I wore this on a venture to Walgreens for beer. Can’t watch football without beer.
A couple of conference calls, and spent some time rearranging and adding things to Guinevere’s new playroom, but made a half-hearted effort to get dressed to get Guinevere from daycare. I say half-hearted, because I’ve actually worn this outfit before, although not for this challenge. I wore almost the same thing on November 12th, and while it didn’t make it to the blog, I did Instagram it here.
I desperately wanted to wear my boho floppy black wool hat with this outfit. I tried multiple poses, and it just didn’t work. I think I simply may not be a hat person. Sad.
Its the holiday season. I need to step this game up. I really felt festive wearing this, but looking at the pictures, I really hate the turtleneck, and I think that wearing the jacket zipped up adds bulk. Post challenge, I’ll probably try this again with a silky black v-neck and leaving the jacket open. Also, the jacket is a gorgeous tomato red/dark coral color. Not this bizarre salmon orange.
It was one of those days where I was SO glad I wore flats. I met up with Molly to pick up some of her stunning Molly Suzanne jewelry that I ordered, then got the call from daycare that Guinevere had a fever, so took her to the pediatrician to confirm an ear infection. We got her meds filled, picked up juice and soup, and finally came home so I could juggle a sick baby and trying to work. I finally found that sitting on the chair in the playroom, with her and my laptop in my lap, with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse minimized in the left corner while I worked on a document on the right hand side did the trick…for about 30 minutes. Sigh.
Biggest challenge this week: Honestly? All of these outfits sort of suck. I don’t know if I’m burned out on this (I didn’t think I was??) or I’m just feeling the holiday stress, but I vow to make the next 10 truly A game level! I’m over halfway done 😉
