You all know I LOVE a good social media story, like my awesome experience with Kohls. In June, I instagram/tweeted a picture of Guinevere wearing a Tillamook cheese tee that was mine from the 80s. I linked Tillamook so they’d see it, and they made a cute response.
Last month, Guinevere began to demand cheese for dinner, and would shovel handfuls of shredded cheese in her mouth. I again instagram/tweeted it, again linking Tillamook. This time, they asked permission to post it on their Facebook page, and the picture got an obscene number of shares, likes and comments – many pointing out the dog also wanting some cheese 😉
Then, Tillamook asked me for my address, and sent the SWEETEST package for us. Just because I shared my love for a brand! They didn’t realize I had a blog, and never asked me to talk about them – they were just being awesome. So now I’ve gotta plug – my family is obsessed with this cheese. My cousins fly to Oregon, and come back with BRICKS of this stuff. You can now order online, and some local stores carry it, although nothing like the full options available to you Oregonians. But next time you go to the store, DEFINITELY look for this brand. Yumm.
I wanted to thank everyone for the awesome comments on my post about how politics aren’t black and white (or rather, red and blue). Can I brag a bit here? I have the BEST blog friends. You all are intelligent, and respectful, and so so kind. I just wish we could all party it up in DC all the time.
The post was partially spurned by seeing other bloggers commenting that they were getting unfollowed during political debates, partially by some ignorant posters on my Facebook list, and partly by a thread about my blog on Get Off My Internets. Which I have to say, was hugely flattering, but also? Whichever one of you started that thread had to know that I am a GOMI regular, I’ve mentioned how its my dirty obsession multiple times 😉 So it was pretty surreal seeing myself appear in two different threads. And while I didn’t disagree with anything really that was said (overall, such minor critiques – my slogan-y, header thing IS super lame, I even told my blog designer such, but I couldn’t come up with anything better), I had a few that wrote me off pretty quickly for identifying myself as a conservative in my About Me section. And I’m not sure when “conservative” became such a dirty word, but perhaps this means one of two things – conservatives are terrible people OR I am not accurately defining myself. So while I may have lost my chance with one or two cat ladies, hopefully anyone else that finds me won’t take one glance, see another conservative, and jet as fast as their little legs can take them. Stick around! We have fun here
Do you have a website, company, or brand that you really love? Like, it is super something you stand behind? While I have a small Target obsession, there is another site that I am truly compulsive about, and use religiously. And that website emailed me, wanting to sponsor a giveaway for you guys. For $100. I about fell over and died. You know I’m kinda picky about giveaways, but this is one of those things where everyone is a winner. Seriously. Get excited.
